Department of Defense Aviation and Industrial Heavy Maintenance, Manufacturing and Processing

Dr. Carney and other members of Southeastern Metallurgy worked for the U.S. Navy at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) for decades. FRCSE is directed by military officers but staffed with approximately 4,500 civilian personnel. Examples of the heavy repair and maintenance work performed at this facility are shown and described throughout this page.

FRCSE is principally responsible for approximately 15 different USN airframes and 7 different engine models, however, it will undertake work from all of the Department of Defense services, U.S. allies, and Federal Agencies (NOAA Huricane Hunters, U.S. Coat Guard, Homeland Security, etc…). Occasionally, it will accept special projects from our nearby U.S. Navy ships, submarines, and other military assets.

Dr. Carney has also been retained to work on aviation-related engineering and legal matters. A large part of the Southeastern Metallurgy airframe and engine experience is listed below.
